Times are tough for many people in our communities. We can’t change what’s happening in the world, but we can do our part to share a little love. And in our case, love equals cheese.
So far, the Whitehall Specialties family of facilities together donated 24,300 pounds of processed cheese to help our communities during the COVID-19 crisis.
With schools closed, many kids are missing more than time in the classroom with their teachers and fellow students. They’re missing lunch. According to NoKidHungry.org, 22 million U.S. children rely on the free or reduced-priced lunch they receive at school. That’s more than two-thirds of the 31 million children who routinely eat school lunch.
Whitehall Specialties is donating sliced and shredded cheese to several school districts including Whitehall, Arcadia, Hillsboro and Slippery Rock (PA). Donations will be made weekly for at least seven weeks. We’re thankful that each of the school districts has plans in place to get meals to their students. And we’re thankful that we can help make life a little easier for local families.
There’s great satisfaction in sharing.
If you can help get a kid the nutrition they need, now’s the time to step up. Contact your local school district or food shelf to see how you can share the love.
