Position Summary 

The HR intern’s responsibilities include serving as a liaison to potential employees and public in our downtown office. This position will include a variety of tasks including data entry, filing HR documents accordingly, scheduling interview and managing candidate processing and onboarding, supporting various HR related projects such as job description updates, company event support and overall HR processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Updating company databases by inputting new employee contact information and employment details.
  • Organizing interviews with selected candidates.
  • Creating job postings and job advertisements to job boards and social media platforms.
  • Assisting the HR staff in gathering market salary information.
  • Assisting in the planning of company events.
  • Preparing and sending offer and rejection letters or emails to candidates.
  • Coordinating new hire orientations.
  • Responding to applicant inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Studying toward a degree in Human Resource Management or related field
  • Valid driver’s license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Alternate sitting/standing for extended periods of workday.
  • Walk occasionally as needed to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Use hands/fingers to handle or feel, operate, activate, use, prepare office related items.
  • Constantly operates a computer, phone and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
  • Climb stairs/ladders.
  • Communicate verbally with employees and customers.
  • Vision requirements include reading computer screens, identifying colors, anticipating employees and visitors.
  • Ability to lift and carry office related items up 25 pounds as needed in the office (supplies).
  • Works in general office conditions regularly.
  • Travel by automobile.
  • Will work in manufacturing/warehousing operations requiring personal protective equipment such as uniform, bump cap, safety glasses and hearing protection.
$12-$14/hour
