We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to serve our six manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate is an experienced EHS professional interested in being part of a progressive leadership team with an excellent safety culture.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will oversee plant Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs to ensure operations minimize the impact upon the environment and provide a safe and incident-free work environment. Responsibilities include leading and supporting the development and implementation of a facility wide EHS culture through technical support, program development, and relationship building.

Duties:

  • Manages all aspects of environment, health, safety, and sustainable development programs.
  • Acts as the face of OINA to all regulatory agencies concerned with EH&S policy and practices.
  • Provide leadership in awareness, tracking progress, and driving results against sustainability goals, including energy, water, and waste.
  • Promote an incident-free work environment by developing/leading programs that routinely train, monitor, and assure a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Direct environmental compliance and performance functions in accordance with regulations and compliance policies.
  • Ensures required data is entered into the EHS reporting tools and accurate and timely reporting of all EH&S metrics.
  • Assists in incident investigations and prepares incident reports.
  • Conducts inspections and audits in plant and at other facilities to detect existing or potential hazards and determine corrective or preventive measures.
  • Facilitates the Safety Committee by active participation in the subcommittee process and acts as a resource for each group.
  • Administers Workers Compensation vendor relationships, processes, leaves and return to work in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Guides and directs plants toward compliance with State, Federal and local Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Supports OINA’s ‘great place to work’ initiatives and events.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Environmental Science/Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of five years industrial safety and/or environmental experience managing EH&S in a multiple-site(s) operation.
  • CSP certification preferred. Valid Driver’s License
