Whitehall Specialties was formed in 1994 through a buy-out of the analog cheese operations of a large dairy cooperative. From an initial staff of 22 employees, the company has grown to over 250 employees today with plants located in Whitehall and Hillsboro, Wisconsin. As testament to Whitehall Specialties' appeal as an employer, of the 22 original employees, 17 remain today. Steve Fawcett has served as the company's president throughout its history and has pioneered the strategy which made Whitehall Specialties a world leader in custom cheese products, imitations and blends.
Whitehall Specialties works with customers to engineer cheese alternatives, processed cheese and cheese blends which meet strict customer specifications for taste, functionality, quality and price. Whitehall Specialties manufactures and distributes products in the industrial, food service and retail channels.
The company's initial manufacturing facility in Whitehall has undergone several major renovations and currently manufactures over 200 different products with industrial block, individually wrapped slice, drying and shredding capabilities. This facility also houses the corporate administrative offices.
The company's manufacturing facility in Hillsboro, Wisconsin, opened in 2000, has also undergone major renovations and currently manufactures a more limited number of products for the industrial block and sliced cheese marketplaces.
In the fall of 2006, Whitehall Specialties opened a third manufacturing plant, also in Whitehall. The 60,000 square foot state-of-the-art plant manufactures industrial block cheese, five pound loaf and cheese sauces. The new cheese sauce line is capable of making bagged sauce in five to twenty pound sizes.
Facilities are licensed dairy plants and receive highest marks in customer and independent quality and safety audits.
Whitehall Specialties core strength is our ability to take you from research and development to market with custom cheese products, imitations or blends in record time.
